Getting to Veszprém

Veszprém, the host city of WOC 2027, is located in western Hungary, close to Lake Balaton and the Bakony Hills. The city is easily accessible by car and public transport, with three international airports within approximately 180 km.

  • Budapest Airport (BUD) – 145 km
    Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes by car, or around 2.5 hours by public transport.
  • Vienna Airport (VIE) – 180 km
    Approximately 2 hours 20 minutes by car, or around 4 hours by public transport.
  • Bratislava Airport (BTS) – 175 km
    Approximately 2 hours 20 minutes by car, or around 4.5 hours by public transport.

By car

Veszprém has good road connections and can be reached from Budapest via the M7 motorway and Main Road 8. The city is also easily accessible from Austria and Slovakia.

By public transport

Regular train and bus services connect Budapest and Veszprém, with connections running approximately every hour during the day.

Getting to the WOC and Hungária Cup venues

The WOC competition areas and arenas also serve as the main venues for the Hungária Cup. They are located outside Veszprém and are most conveniently reached by car or team bus.

Teams and Hungária Cup participants are therefore encouraged to use their own transport during the event.
